Hot Air Balloon Animals is a short narrative film in puppetry. Based on the two dimensional world of Leroy's Place paintings, this urban film uses recycled materials to bring to life the adventure of a monster named Merf. Stuck in his monotoned world and daily routine, Merf struggles to piece together his strange interests. When inspiration finally ignites, the lovable monster embarks on a hot air adventure filled with flying unicorns and cloud animals.
